Myspace Mobster Mob Wide Bulletins Getting WICKED Irritating

July 27, 2008 by Jacqui Best

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Here is the deal people, I do care whatcha have to say but I also care about who attacked me, who punched me, and who put a hit on me. When we post all those bulletins straight to the Mobster API then a lot of the other things we want to know from that window are getting bumped off. I think the best thing that could be done would be for the coder of the plug in to separate it out. They should put bulletins in one window, attacks in another window, and mobsters who have been added in another. That would solve the problem of people getting frustrated about all the bulletins causing their damage to fall off. I think they should also remove it from posting a bulletin to our MySpace area personally that way we can go into Mobsters and see all the stuff to do with mobsters. I missed the birth of a friend’s baby with all the bulletins LOL. I have met a lot of new great friend because of Mobster, but on the other side some of the people on my friends are just other mobsters I don’t have contact with, I mean really how the hell I would talk to 700 people. So it would be nice if I could keep the “myspace” stuff separate from the “mobster” stuff. Let me know if you think I am wrong, also I know people in the know read this blog so post if you can think of anything else to improve.

I agree with you they should be kept separated. I have met some nice people but like you stated some are in just for the game.

This is true, There is a way however, to add a mobster without a friend request; what is it?

I absolutely agree with you. I’m getting tired of logging in to mobsters to have nothing but a page of comments. I have to start deleting all the crap just to find out who has attacked etc while I was AFK. I don’t mind an occasional broadcast on there, but some people….seems like that’s all they do. What’s really bad too is that their comments are one sided. I may not be in John Doe’s mob and they are answering a question from John Doe. How the hell do I know what John Doe has said. ARGH One of the other things I’m seeing a lot of is a broadcast of someone letting their mob know they have stepped out to the store. I mean really, do I care what someone half way around the world is doing? 99% of the time ~ hell no!!! I’m there to play a game and have some fun. If I make a few friends in the process then that’s totally different.

I decided to go ahead and delete those that are just posting non stop broadcasts and will hopefully get a few invites elsewhere.

My three biggest complaints of the game….the meaningless broadcasts which result in the meaningless bulletins and having to add random people as friends just to get my mob members up. No offense to anyone out there, but I’ve even made my pics private on myspace so the randoms I’m adding aren’t able to see them (course then that makes for my friends and family unable to view as well).

Hopefully the creators of the game will take some of this in to consideration and do a bit of improving. Til then I’ll keep playing and doing what I’ve been doing….

I appreciate all the new “FRIENDS” for Mobsters, but wish it was all seperate! I dont like mixing the two, and now to browse thru my friends, I have tons of pages. So now I have to sort them all out, just extra time and slight pain in the ass. Captcha sucks too. But yes extremely hard to keep up with the ones you know on a personal basis..

i think you are right i also dont think we should have to add people to our friends list to add them to mobsters they should keep it seperate

What’s up with all these spam messages that say to rebroadcast for an instant million or so?

Sounds like the emails I get from people I think should know better.

Yeah it is for sure a scam, that someone started cause they thought it would be funny to watch the spam. All it has dont it make it so I am deleting all bulletins.. SIGH

I agree with everyone else. I too have missed many important events and also a job offer with all the bulletins.

just so you guys all know, you can remove the people on your mob of your myspace friendslist after you add them to your mob, and then your myspace friendslist wont be full of people you dont know!!!

You know when I started playin mobster, I started adding friends to make my mob bigger, but once they joined my mob I would delete then from my friends list and they will stay in ur mob. If that helps anyone.

Hey guys…I had a guy invite me to join his mob and he was not on my friends list. I have been looking for somewhere that shows how to do this, but I keep getting the same information you all posted here. There has to be a way to add someone to your mob without adding them to friends or else this guy wouldn’t have been able to send me a mob invite! Just wondering if anyone had any insight into this…

  15. j on August 7th, 2008 10:15 pm

you can delete the “new” friends from your myspace and they stay in your mob

  16. Pete on August 16th, 2008 1:41 pm

Add a person as your friend

    invite them to mobsters

you can then delete them as your friend

And they stay on mobsters, that the best way i found to add people

I have to agree with keeping pics private… I have read some bulletins about some perverts getting on some minors pages and they being way out of line… I ended up creating a seperate Mobster profile… and the only ones on my profile are my mobsters… I am only having my friends on my other profile…

There really needs to be a way to seperate the messages…

I was stupid when I first started playing this mobsters and paid for some godfather points with a purchase and still after one month haven’t received my points nor has anyone gotten back with me about my complaint.

  22. shay on September 25th, 2008 7:27 pm

    Nathan,

Email the company at the bottom of the offer screen and they will give you points back (after emailing a copy of the confirmation to them). It happened to me too!
